He works at the intersection of UAV-based remote sensing, precision agriculture, and climate-smart crop management using geospatial tools to understand how crops respond to water stress and how management decisions affect emissions.
CURRENT ROLE
Project Scientific Officer at the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), where he coordinates multi-district field trials on Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) irrigation and quantifies CH₄ and N₂O emissions by gas chromatography, measuring the trade-offs between water savings, yield, and greenhouse gas output in rice systems.
RESEARCH BACKGROUND
Two years in the GIS and Remote Sensing Lab at Gazipur Agricultural University, where he planned and flew DJI Inspire 2 and multispectral missions using Pix4D and Emlid Flow, and built vegetation-index and land-cover workflows; NDVI, EVI, LULC classification, change detection in QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and Google Earth Engine, with analysis in Python and R.
PUBLICATIONS
First author of a Springer book chapter on thermal, hyperspectral, and multispectral imaging for environmental monitoring. Co-author of published work on herbicide efficiency and chickpea agronomy. Three manuscripts currently under review, including a systematic review and meta-analysis on nano-urea in rice.
TRAINING AND AWARDS
National Science and Technology Fellowship, Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. Recent intensive training in applied machine learning (PyTorch, computer vision) and geospatial data analysis.
